Practice Practice Practice.....
I suppose I only took about 3 THOUSAND pictures this weekend and yet....came back with just a few that I actually wanted to save. Frustrating.....it makes me wonder how many other photographers are a hit/miss w/ their pictures. I'm definitely debating getting a new memory card....at this rate I could fill up 4 before I had a hand full of pictures to show. :) HAHA, I joke to keep from crying....(j/k)
I stumbled onto a blog that had some fabulous pictures on it....here's Mimi's blog. Those are definitely the types of pictures that I'm striving to achieve.
I know, I know.....more dog pictures.....but no kids and the husband was hiding out in the garage (which had horrible lighting since he refused to open the door).

I'm gonna smack you upside the head girlie...honest I am! (looking at you sternly over the top of my glasses.) Seriously, I think your photography is wonderful. So what if your babies are all furry? You capture their very essence so wonderfully with your lens and it's plain to the viewer that they are loved. THAT is what it's all about kiddo! (love ya!)

Those photos are so tack sharp, and the shallow DOF looks great. Your babies are awesome. We love to see photos, doesn't matter if they have four legs. I read some quote by a pro photographer that said if he gets 1 good photo out of 100 that he's had a GREAT day. Just snap and enjoy your hobby that you love. You'll quit loving it if you put so much pressure on yourself. Believe me I know. Keep posting photos. They look GREAT!

I popped by your blog again today to see what you were up to and I was so surprised to see MY name in your post! I'm so flattered! But, let me just tell ya -- I had a BAD, I mean B-A-D photo shoot today. I am also hit and miss. Today was a miss. I won't go into all the gory details because I am already depressed and that will send me over the edge, but I want you to know you are not alone. We both have one thing in common and that's the immense pressure and high expectation that we put on ourselves.

I think the photos you got of your dogs look great!! So sharp and good compositions.

If there is ANYTHING I can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact me. I am just beginning but I'd be happy to give you some pointers (the few that I know!) :)
